turkey hunting question need help?
iv been turkey hunting in pa every weekend and off day i get. the season end this monday comin up. i still didnt get a turkey. there are alot of them around every time iv went out and call with my box call they gobble. so i get a spot but they wont come in. whats wrong im dressed in camo and call works great. i dont use a decoy tho but i never even get close to the turkeys. idk whats wrong.
From the article titled, “Public Land Gobblers” (see source) it often helps to consider how other hunters approach the birds. Logically, every hunter will approach birds from the road or parking area. And, any bird that can be heard from the road will be called to from the same direction and in a similar manner. Common practice is to drive to a spot and throw out an owl or crow call and listen to a response. If you get a shock gobble, try circling around and getting on the opposite side of the bird. It’s heard it all from the road.
