will a canadian goose call work for snow geese?
As far I as I know, not really. Of course it really depends on the type of call you have and how it is tuned…you could probably get one to sound somewhat similar. There are a number of snow goose calls for sales…Primos sells some cheaper ones ($20), Tim Grounds sells one for about $100, Foiles sells some more expensive ones ($160). I personally would get a Tim Grounds calll…unmatched customer service and quality. Mouth calls for snow geese are usually used only in the fall, when electronic callers are illegal to use. However, I am guessing that you might be participating in the spring snow goose hunt. In that case, nearly everyone uses an electronic caller during the spring hunt. Very easy to use, much more realisitic than a mouth call, and of course much louder. It won’t cost that much either. All you need is an MP3 player with some durable speakers that you will position throughout the field. There are many hunting sites that have free downloadable snow goose tracks that you can put on your player.
