What is a “field strip” clean for a shotgun?
Is that when you take the barrel off
the trigger off
the bolt slide and the bolt out
Field stripping is described in your manual, and it originally a military term, but it represents disassembling a firearm only to the point where you can clean and lubricate the essential parts (i.e. barrel, action, etc.). This is non-technical and can be done sitting on a log in a “field” (in other words no screwdrivers and small parts involved). With a shotgun it would be where you have the trigger housing out, the bolt out and the barrel out of the forestock so you can oil the entire exterior. If you had a barrel that easily disengaged it would certainly make it easier to clean the bore.
